Northern California here... hella hecka spreading our NorCal lingo around the world apparently. Very surprised that someone like Lydia would be using the word "hella". Lydia, you’re so right that investing in ourselves is the most important thing especially at the moment! I’ve really come to realise that the pandemic has affected us all, every single one of us. And i know that many people have had it worse than me (I’ve been really lucky in that I haven’t lost anyone or anything) but i have found it difficult to cope with all the changes and restrictions and I’ve tried to keep a brave face thinking I shouldn’t feel this way because there is no obvious reason for it but I realised that my feelings and experiences are valid and I shouldn’t compare them to anyone else’s. There is a constant underlying pressure of not knowing what’s to come and living with uncertainty but not being able to use our usual coping mechanisms. So it is important to take time, sit still and check in with ourselves, and most importantly not judge ourselves. If you get a chance google the free short PDF book “How to stay calm in a global pandemic” by Dr Emma Hepburn, i found it very useful to understand how I’m feeling and it has some great tips on simple coping strategies.

personally managed to only buy like 3-4 clothing pieces throughout the year, which im really proud of! the pandemic obvs made us stay home more, so there wasnt pressure to buy new stuff bc there isnt really a lot of places we would go. i did however discover second hand buying and am so excited to hopefully go more towards that in the future. such great pieces that others just dont use. surely will buy something as new, but maybe will focus on it to be more sustainable and better quality, instead of fast fashion. as a uni student im not loaded with money, so these purchases are important to me haha. but im glad i was able to discover and learn about my purchase habits more this year as well

The green Lady Dior bag is lovely. Come spring/summer you need to take it on a wonderful day out and attach a nice memory to it. It actually looks lovely with the winter white you’re wearing. Don’t give up on it yet. I would love a bag in that shade of green but they seem more of a mint shade currently.
